Polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) coatings and films are extremely durable and long lasting. PVF has a proven track record in the harshest environments, demonstrating excellent color retention and protection from corrosion and weather over decades. It was selected as a protective roofing material for the Sea Crest Condos in Hilton Head, South Carolina in 2022. The six-story building sits directly on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean and the existing steel roof panels were severely corroded. As a solution, aluminum panels laminated with Tedlar were chosen for their excellent durability by the coast. Tedlar’s flexibility allowed it to bend to tight edges on the roofing panels without compromising film integrity or adhesion, assuring the roof is protected and looks brand new for decades.
